About Me
I live in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood of Portland Oregon. Mt. Tabor is a special place for it's welcoming community, vernacular architecture, and for the crown jewel park built atop a dormant volcano. I grew up a surfer and distance runner on Long Island, NY. Growing up, I worked for a small 100+ year old family aquatic nursery. I also did a lot of my own jobs, building and maintaining ponds for neighbors. I got my boat captains license at 16 years old and worked weekends as a launch captain for a yacht club.I graduated from Towson University in Maryland with a Bachelors in Environmental Sciences. This led me to a diverse decade of engineering and environmental consulting. I primarily supported long-term environmental remediation projects for energy companies, national laboratories, municipalities, and real estate developers.In 2017, I joined a F500 utility client to help manage a portfolio of environmentally impacted real estate. Later, I moved into their core business and joined an newly created engineering team. I designed and managed dozens of capital construction projects and help build the early processes and SOPs for the department.In 2019 my wife and I left our careers and moved to Portland, Oregon. We fell in love with Oregon, the small towns, the coast, the forests, the valleys, and of course - the mountains. We started a healthcare business together, and I began working on a larger variety of businesses and business opportunities. I love stories of the Old West. Land rights, water rights, lumber, highways, manufacturing, technology...all of it. I'm a trend-hunter, and a public records junkie. I enjoy identifying the pieces of businesses that allow them to succeed over the long haul.I'm deeply involved with the local business community in Northern Oregon and love meeting folks doing cool things.Some of my work is included below.
